The film Louder Than a Bomb premiered in March 2010 at the Cleveland International Film Festival,
where it won both the Roxanne T. Mueller Audience Choice Award for Best Film and the Greg Gund Memorial Standing Up Film Competition for films that celebrate social justice and activism. Since then, praise and awards have followed at film festivals all over the United States. Notably, Louder Than a Bomb won audience choice awards at the Chicago International Film Festival and the Philadelphia Film Festival and won Best Documentary Feature at he Austin Film Festival.
LTAB Greensboro welcomes over 90 NC students, 75 volunteers and administrators, and over 200 community members. We invite media personnel to cover an event that will be one of the biggest and most talked about in Greensboro this Spring! Never before has Louder Than a Bomb come to North Carolina, but it has been featured in variety of cities from Tulsa to DC to Omaha and the biggest of all, Chicago! Louder Than a Bomb received its fame from the documentary centered around the festival that won countless awards, one of which was being featured on Oprah's OWN Channel Documentary Series.
Guilford County School system (third largest school district in North Carolina serving more than 71,000 students) has some of the best and the brightest youth in North Carolina. This state as a whole has some of the most talented poets in the Southeastern area. Many that have won countless national awards. The LTAB GSO team will be making a film and photo project centered around this immense NC poetry talent. Covering this experience, this project, and movement will mean you shared an event that is making history! Every year LTAB NC will return to a new city in NC.
